Itinerary

Day
1

Day 1: First Light in Santiago

Arrive in one of South America’s most captivating capitals and ease into a city where colonial grandeur meets contemporary style. A private transfer takes you to your hotel in Barrio Lastarria, one of Santiago’s most refined neighbourhoods, known for its leafy streets, galleries, independent restaurants, and elegant early 20th-century architecture. Spend the afternoon exploring at your own pace, or unwind with a perfectly mixed pisco sour on the rooftop terrace as the Andes rise in the distance.

Day
2

Day 2: Capital, Coast & Cool-Climate Vines

Spend the day exploring Santiago’s many layers with your private guide. Begin in the historic center, where the Plaza de Armas, the ornate Government Palace, and the 18th-century cathedral reflect a city shaped by centuries of ambition. Continue to the colorful hills of Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage port known for its street art, funiculars, and unmistakably bohemian spirit. On the return journey, enjoy a private tasting at a celebrated Casablanca Valley vineyard—an elegant finale featuring Chile’s cool-climate whites at their best.

Day
3

Day 3: South to the Lakes

Fly south into the emerald heart of Chilean Patagonia, where snow-capped volcanoes rise above the glacial waters of Lake Llanquihue. A private transfer takes you to your boutique lakeside hotel before a relaxed lunch introduces the region’s flavors. This afternoon, stroll the storied streets of Puerto Varas, a town shaped by 19th-century German settlers whose architectural legacy endures in grand timber houses and rose-lined avenues. Sail the crystalline lake at golden hour, then linger over a traditional German once tea—the perfect introduction to this cultured corner of Patagonia.

Day
4

Day 4: Fire, Ice & Ancient Forest

Venture into one of South America’s most dramatic volcanic landscapes. Your private guide leads you along the shores of Lake Llanquihue toward the commanding Osorno Volcano, ascending to 1,240 meters for sweeping views across glaciers, lakes and distant forest. Continue into Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, where ancient evergreen woodland frames the thundering Saltos del Petrohué—the Petrohué River surging through crystallised lava fields in a display of raw natural power. End the day with a private boat journey across the turquoise waters of Todos los Santos Lake.

Day
5

Day 5: The Penguin Isles of Chiloé

Cross the legendary Chacao Channel by ferry to the mystical Isla Grande de Chiloé, watching for sea lions and coastal birds en route. Your private guide leads you to Caulín Bay and onward to Puñihuil, one of the world’s only places where Magellanic and Humboldt penguins nest side by side on the same islets. Local naturalists share the story of this extraordinary wildlife sanctuary before the day concludes in Ancud, with time to explore the 18th-century Fort of San Antonio and the island’s UNESCO-recognized heritage churches.

Day
6

Day 6: Back to the Capital

After a final lakeside breakfast with Osorno’s volcanic silhouette as your backdrop, a private transfer takes you to Puerto Montt Airport for the flight back to Santiago. Check in and enjoy a relaxed evening at leisure—perhaps dinner at one of Barrio Lastarria’s acclaimed restaurants before tomorrow’s flight into the Pacific.

Day
7

Day 7: Five Hours West - Easter Island

Board your morning flight west across the vast Pacific—five hours and 3,700 kilometers of open ocean—to one of the most remote inhabited places on earth. Soon after landing at Mataveri Airport, settle into your oceanfront lodge, where wide windows frame the endless horizon. Your expert guides introduce the island’s remarkable story: a civilization that raised colossal stone figures in near-total isolation. As the sun sinks into the Pacific, the moai at Ahu Tahai glow in the evening light—a powerful first glimpse of the mysteries ahead.

Day
8

Day 8: The Quarry, the Towers and the Beach

Depart before dawn for Ahu Tongariki, where fifteen towering moai stand against the rising sun, restored to their commanding presence after being swept inland by the 1960 Pacific tsunami. From there, your private guide leads you to Rano Raraku, the volcanic quarry where nearly every moai on the island was carved. Hundreds of unfinished stone figures remain embedded in the hillside, seemingly frozen mid-creation. In the afternoon, continue to the white sands of Anakena Beach, the legendary landing place of the first Polynesian king, where seven moai overlook turquoise waters.

Day
9

Day 9: The Navel of the World

Today looks beyond the headline sites to the island’s deeper mysteries. Ascend the slopes of Terevaka, Rapa Nui’s highest volcano, for sweeping views across the Pacific that reveal why the island is known as Te Pito o Te Henua: the Navel of the World. Continue to the ceremonial village of Orongo, dramatically set on the rim of the Rano Kau crater, where the island’s Birdman competition once took place. End the afternoon at leisure—with a spa treatment, time by the pool or quiet moments watching wild horses roam the hills as the Pacific light turns gold.

Day
10

Day 10: Final Sunrise Among the Moai

Take a final sunrise walk among the moai before your private transfer returns you to Mataveri Airport for the flight back to Santiago. From there, continue home or extend your journey north to the Atacama Desert and beyond. As ever on a journey like this, the choice is entirely yours.
